RCSAS Outreach - for Professionals
Our Outreach service works with local organisations and forms a network of support that some survivors may need and all deserve. Our female workers are able to introduce RCSAS services in person, deliver sexual violence material and answer any questions you may have. It is important to note that due to our strict confidentiality policy we do not accept third party referrals into our service and will only see a woman or girl if she self-refers.
How can I refer clients into this service?
For all services at RCSAS we ask that survivors self-refer so that from the moment they begin working with us they are empowered to make choices for themselves. Professionals can encourage their clients to self-refer in four ways:
By arranging for our Outreach Worker to come and attend an existing drop-in/outreach service run by your organisation. Clients will be able to speak to the worker on-site, there and then, about the support and information offered. This can be a one-off or a regular attendance.
By arranging for our Outreach Worker to come and deliver a one-off awareness-raising session at your organisation, which can be attended by staff and/or clients.
By letting your clients know of their nearest Hub Point, so that they can contact us and arrange to meet there.
By letting your clients know of their nearest Drop-In, which they can drop in to any time we are in attendance there.
Our workers can also deliver one-hour Awareness Raising sessions on sexual violence. These sessions are in demand so we encourage organisations to book in advance.
