This International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (Sunday 25 November 2018), members of the West Sussex VAWG Forum have agreed to join together to raise awareness of violence against women and girls.
25 November marks the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls, and the start of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. It ends on International Human Rights Day on 10 December.
During this time, we will be “busting” the myths that silence and stigmatise women, allowing violence against women to escalate. We will be calling on supporters and members of the public to #HearMeToo – to listen to the truth of women’s experiences rather than continuing to listen to the myths.
The initiative will use social media to raise awareness and ask the public to show their support for ending violence against women and girls by sharing our messages throughout the 16 Days with their own networks.
To keep up to date with and support the initiative, please follow the hashtag #HearMeToo and RCSAS’ social media accounts.
